Non-Personal Information We Collect by Automated Means And How We Use It
We – and certain third parties who include, but not limited to, service providers, advertisers, advertising networks and platforms, and third-party partners – may use automated means to collect various types of non-personal information (data in a form that does not support direct association with any specific person or individual), including information about you, your computer or other device used to access our Platform. Much of this information is collected through the use of third-party tracking services, which includes Google Analytics and/or similar products. The information collected may include usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of users to the Platform, pages visited, web browsing histories, online activities and searches, social networking activities and similar data. When gathered, this data, if used, is used in the aggregate, and not in a manner that is intended to identify you personally. This type of aggregate information may be shared with third parties at any time. In addition to the third-party tracking services mentioned above, we may also collect non-personal information through various other means, including “cookies”, web beacons and IP addresses, as further explained below.
HANDLING
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of information that a web server may place on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are commonly used by websites to improve the user experience. Many cookies last only through a single website session, or visit. Others may have an expiration date, or may remain on your computer until you delete them. SC may use “session cookies” so that we can properly verify a user’s identity as they move from one page to the next. We may also use cookies for other purposes, such as to identify and authenticate visitors, to maintain continuity during a user session, or to gather data about the usage of our website for research and other purposes.
Cookies may also be used for “retargeting.” Retargeting is a cookie-based technology that uses specific code to anonymously “follow” or track previous visitors to our Platform after they leave, and allows us to target advertisements to those previous visitors as they visit other websites. As such, when you visit our Platform we may “activate” an anonymous browser cookie.
Most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable existing cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features on our Platform. Our cookies do not gather personally identifiable information. In some cases, SC may also use another company to operate web servers for our Platform. SC uses the cookie information gathered by these companies in the same manner as stated in this Privacy Policy.
Web Beacons
We may also use “web beacons” (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags and clear GIFs). These web beacons allow third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies set by the third party. Web beacons also may be used to track whether you have opened an HTML email. When the email is opened, a part of the code that makes up the HTML page calls a web server to load the web beacon that then generates a record showing that the email has been viewed. Web beacons may also recognize when the email was opened, how many times it was forwarded and which URLs (links within the email) were clicked.
Log files, IP Addresses, Java Script, Analytics and other Tracking Information
When you visit and interact with the Platform, SC and third parties with whom we have contracted to provide services for us, may collect Internet Protocol addresses (each an “IP Address”), as well as browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and page navigation. An IP Address is a unique identifier number that certain electronic devices use to identify and to communicate with each other on the Internet; your Internet Service Provider automatically assigns an IP Address to the computer that you are using. We gather this information to track web site visitor movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
Additionally, advertisers may receive the URL of the page you were on when you click on an ad on the Website. The link between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is not shared with third parties without your permission. Our goal in gathering this information is to learn how our customers and the public are using our Platform. We may use this information to enhance our Platform or for other lawful purposes.
The Platform “Apps”
When you install any of the applications, widgets or browser extensions (the “App(s)”), we may automatically track the websites you visit using the browser for which you have installed the App, and your activity on those websites, including products and services you searched for, viewed, or clicked, and your browsing activity on those websites, and the transactions you made on those websites. You can stop all collection of this information at any time by uninstalling the App.
Other Means
We may work with third-party companies that use techniques other than HTTP cookies to recognize your computer or device and/or to collect and record information about your web surfing activity, including those integrated with our services. Please keep in mind that your web browser may not permit you to block the use of these techniques, and those browser settings that block conventional cookies may have no effect on such techniques.
Do Not Track Notice
Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature that signals to websites that you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. How browsers communicate and respond to the Do Not Track signal is not yet uniform. For this reason, like many websites, the Platform does not currently respond to or alter its practices when it receives a Do Not Track signal. Please note that third parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit our Platform or other online websites and services.
STORAGE AND SHARING
We may disclose all of the information (described herein) that we collect, as stated in this Privacy Policy including in accordance with the terms set forth in this section. SC works with a variety of third-party partners in order to allow us to make the Platform available to you, to host and store the information we collect from you, to collect and process your donations, and to provide certain functionality and features, including matching you with merchants and websites that will generate a donation for your designated nonprofits. In regard to the nonprofit(s) you designate to receive your donations, we will share your name and email address with such organizations if you give us permission to do so when you select the nonprofit; you will always be provided with the opportunity to opt-out of having your information shared with your designated nonprofit at the time of your selection of the nonprofit(s). In regard to other third parties, we will not share your personally identifiable information outside of SC and its affiliates, except under the following limited circumstances: (i) where we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by law, or to comply with legal process served on us; (ii) to protect and defend SC’s rights and property, or the rights and property of others; (iii) to troubleshoot, debug, detect, and protect against, security incidents; (iv) to enforce our Terms and Conditions; (v) in connection with a corporate transaction involving SC, such as the sale of a SC business unit, or a merger, consolidation, asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy; and/or (vi) where we contract or partner with third parties to provide specialized services on our behalf, such as credit card processors, customer support, and data processors. These companies only use your personal information to perform these services, and they are subject to stringent contractual restrictions prohibiting them from using or sharing your personal information for any other purpose.
In addition, we may share aggregated usage information from our users (such as the number of clicks on a particular link) with third parties, but this aggregated information does not identify you personally.
Further, we may use and disclose information that is not in personally identifiable form for any lawful purpose.

If you are located outside of the United States, please note that the information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States. Information collected through the Platform may be stored and processed in any country in which SC or its affiliates or service providers maintain facilities.
